Dr. William Susuwele-Banda is a teacher educator, curriculum developer, a trained school inspector, researcher and book evaluator. He has published several articles on different subjects in both local and international journals. He has participated in a number of research and evaluation exercises. He has edited school mathematics textbooks and co-authored science supplementary readers for secondary school science teachers.

Dr. Susuwele-Banda graduated from University of Malawi with a Bachelor of Education degree and taught Mathematics and Science at secondary school level before joining Makerere University in Uganda for his Masters degree. He later joined Virginia Tech University in the United States of America for his doctorate degree in curriculum and instruction. His teaching experience is both at secondary school and college levels.

Dr. Susuwele-Banda was head of Malawi Institute of Education, which is the national curriculum development centre in Malawi, for 9 years before he decided to join politics.

He is currently a Member of Parliament and Minister of Education, Science and Technology in Malawi.
